Duties & Responsibilities

The Charter Township of Lansing Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the township and is responsible for overseeing the administration, finances, and policies that guide township operations. Your Charter Township board consists of a Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and four Trustees.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Policy and Decision Making: Adopts ordinances, resolutions, and policies that shape township governance and community services.

  • Financial Oversight: Approves budgets, monitors expenditures, and ensures responsible management of township funds.

  • Administration: Works with township departments to provide essential services such as public safety, infrastructure, zoning, and community development.

  • Representation: Serves as the voice of township residents, ensuring local government is responsive and transparent.

  • Planning and Growth: Collaborates on land use, planning, and development decisions to promote sustainable growth and community well-being.

Meeting Times

The Board of Trustees Meetings are held at the Charter Township of Lansing offices, located at 3209 W. Michigan Ave. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held in the Board Room.
