This letter is to provide notification regarding the following water main replacement projects.
Detroit St – Kalamazoo St to Michigan Ave
The water main, which will be installed by the Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) crews, will improve water quality, reliability, and fire flow capabilities in the area. Following the completion of the water main installation, the road will be repaired.
Subject to weather conditions, construction activities will commence during the month of April and are estimated to be completed in the month of July. This project will require a partial road closure on Detroit St from Kalamazoo to Michigan Ave. Local traffic will be maintained for residents living along the affected routes. Access to driveways along the affected routes will be maintained; however, there may be brief, temporary disruptions while work is underway in the immediate area.
In addition to traffic impacts, water service to your property will be interrupted periodically so that service connections can be made to the new water main. You will receive advanced notice of any planned water interruptions.
The BWL is aware our work may be an inconvenience to you; however, the improvements are necessary to maintain a high level of water quality, reliability and fire protection for the area. We apologize in advance for any disruption to your normal travel patterns and interruption to your water service.
